Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) and the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative (UN SSE) have announced the release of “Model Guidance on Nature-Related Financial Disclosures.”
The guidance is introduced at the Building Bridges event in Geneva and designed as a template for stock exchanges to draw upon when communicating expectations to listed companies regarding nature-related financial disclosures.
The model guidance is intended to assist issuers in recognising nature-related considerations within their activities, including dependencies, impacts, risks, and opportunities linked to ecosystems, biodiversity, and natural resources.

This comes as investor interest in how companies interact with nature has been increasing, and exchanges are seen as a neutral point of coordination. By referencing the same foundational framework, exchanges can avoid fragmented reporting practices and promote consistency among listed entities.
There is also a discussion on the cards through an online webinar, in which speakers from Norges Bank Investment Management, London Stock Exchange Group, Robeco, and Euronext are participating. These representatives are expected to speak about the growing relevance of nature-related risks in financial decision-making.
Statements from TNFD, UN SSE, Euronext, and SGX Group put across a common view that nature-related issues are becoming more visible in sustainable finance. They say that consistent guidance can help companies as they work nature considerations into reporting to financial stakeholders.
