Lenovo ESG Report 2024/25 Highlights Sustainability Milestones

Lenovo has released its FY 2024/25 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report, highlighting major strides in its sustainability journey and progress toward its 2030 emissions reduction targets. The report reaffirms Lenovo’s commitment to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, in sync with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). With its first-generation ESG key performance indicators (KPIs) entering their completion phase, the company has set the stage for the next phase of its responsible growth strategy.
Driving Environmental Leadership through the Circular Economy
The FY24/25 ESG Report highlights Lenovo’s growing focus on environmental responsibility, particularly through circular economy practices. The company has expanded the use of closed-loop recycled materials in its products and enhanced repair, recycling, and reuse services to help customers extend device lifecycles and reduce waste.
These initiatives have earned Lenovo multiple global accolades:
- Received a Platinum recognition from EcoVadis
- Received an AAA rating from MSCI ESG Ratings
- Given the Gold Award for Best Corporate Governance and ESG from HKICPA
- Was ranked #8 in Gartner’s Top 25 Global Supply Chains, with a 9/10 ESG score
Such recognition reflects Lenovo’s transparent and measurable approach to environmental impact and corporate responsibility.

Scaling Social Impact Worldwide
Lenovo’s social initiatives gained strong momentum in 2024. The company was once again named a Best Workplace for People with Disabilities by Disability: IN in the U.S., and this recognition expanded to the U.K. and Brazil. The global rollout of inclusive practices showcases Lenovo’s dedication to creating equitable workplaces.
Employee-driven initiatives also hit new milestones. During its annual Love on Month of Service, Lenovo employees reached 44% more people through volunteer programs compared to the previous year, highlighting a culture of community engagement and social impact.
“This year marks a significant milestone for Lenovo’s ESG journey,” said Lenovo’s SVP, Chief Legal Officer, and Corporate Responsibility Officer, Dave Carroll. “With our first generation of KPIs nearing completion, we’re proud of our progress and focused on building the foundation for the next chapter of ESG leadership.”
Strengthening Governance and Responsible AI
Lenovo also made notable strides in ESG governance, particularly in responsible AI innovation. In 2024, the company introduced a comprehensive AI governance policy aligned with frameworks from the Canadian Government, UNESCO, Cercle InterL, and the European Commission.
To further bolster governance, Doug Fisher was appointed Chief AI Officer, in addition to his Chief Security Officer role, reinforcing Lenovo’s “Smarter AI for All” vision and commitment to ethical technology deployment.
