  • The new tool simplifies carbon reporting, helps comply with evolving regulations, and provides practical strategies to reduce carbon emissions.

  • It improves fleet efficiency and reduces running costs.

Alphabet, the leading mobility solutions provider, has launched Carbon Manager, a web-based tool that helps fleet operators in the UK monitor and reduce their vehicles' carbon emissions.

The tool gives businesses a complete view of their total carbon footprint by transforming raw data into practical strategies. This prepares them to take a structured approach to reach net zero targets and reduce carbon emissions.

The Carbon Manager tool has been specifically designed for fleet operators in partnership with Plan A, a specialist in carbon accounting, decarbonisation, and ESG reporting, to deal with everyday challenges they face in the form of monitoring emissions, complying with regulations, and improving efficiency.

Caroline Sandall-Mansergh, Consultancy and Channel Development Manager at Alphabet (GB), said: “Carbon Manager has the power to transform the way organisations approach fleet management. This highly tailored tool extends far beyond policy compliance, offering companies a strategic advantage by identifying ways to boost efficiency and reduce running costs both now and in the future."

A broader issue companies face today is accurate emissions reporting amidst tightening government regulations concerning carbon disclosure. In 2022, the UK government’s Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) announced mandatory reporting of climate-related financial risks for large companies, impacting more than 1,300 businesses. And it will be extended to all companies by 2026.

“No matter how a fleet programme is managed, be it by a dedicated fleet manager, through procurement or by HR, we know that these hard-working individuals are often time poor. Alphabet’s Carbon Manager tool is designed to provide professionals with a detailed understanding of their fleet’s efficiency without the need for a significant time investment," added Caroline.
