The CEO Action Network (CAN), Malaysia’s coalition of corporate leaders focused on advancing responsible business practices, has announced the appointment of Cypark group managing director Datuk Ami Moris as its new chair, effective Nov 1.
Ami takes over from Datuk Fad’l Mohamed, CEO of Bursa Malaysia, who had been serving as interim chair after the departure of former Bursa Malaysia chief Datuk Muhamad Umar Swift. With over three decades of experience in the capital market, Ami currently leads Cypark Resources Bhd, a company known for its integrated renewable energy and environmental solutions.
In her new role, Ami will work closely with CAN’s steering committee to guide the network’s strategic direction. Her priorities include strengthening multi-sectoral partnerships, promoting stronger sustainability leadership, and championing initiatives that help Malaysian CEOs address climate change risks, social equity concerns, and long-term business resilience.

“I am honoured to assume the role of chair at this pivotal moment for Malaysia’s business community,” Ami said in a statement. “The CEO Action Network has been instrumental in uniting leaders around a shared vision for sustainable growth, and I look forward to working closely with our members to ensure that purpose and profit go hand in hand.”
Established in 2021, the network functions as a peer-to-peer business coalition, collaborating with thought leaders, government bodies, and civil society groups to promote corporate sustainability. Its members represent a wide range of industries, including energy, finance, manufacturing, and technology, all committed to embedding sustainability into core business strategies.
Ami emphasized the need for businesses to translate ambition into measurable progress. “Today, more than ever, leadership demands courage, collaboration, and the ability to turn purpose into actionable progress,” she said. “As chair of CAN Malaysia, I am committed to catalyzing meaningful change and building a legacy of sustainable impact—because the most enduring success comes when we mobilize leaders to drive responsible growth together.”
CAN’s steering committee expressed strong support for Ami’s appointment, noting that her experience and leadership style will help shape the coalition’s next phase.
Datuk Seri Johan Raslan and Dr Kalanithi Nesaretnam said: “The challenges ahead demand bold leadership, and she is well-equipped to guide the network into the future.”
