GoodWe ESG Leadership Gains Global Boost With EcoVadis Gold Medal

Takeaways
- GoodWe has earned an EcoVadis Gold Medal, placing it in the top 5% of companies worldwide for sustainability performance.
- The solar inverter maker has also improved its CDP Climate Change score to B, signalling stronger climate governance and transparency.
- The milestones reinforce GoodWe’s position as a global ESG leader in the clean energy sector.
GoodWe, a global provider of solar inverters and smart energy solutions, has strengthened its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) credentials after achieving two major international sustainability milestones. The company has been awarded an EcoVadis Gold Medal and has improved its CDP Climate Change score, underlining its growing focus on transparent, responsible, and climate-focused operations worldwide.
Gold Medal Recognition: EcoVadis
GoodWe received a Gold Medal from EcoVadis, achieving an overall score of 82 out of 100. This result places the company in the top 5 per cent of all organizations assessed globally for sustainability performance.
The evaluation highlights GoodWe’s strong and consistent practices across key ESG areas, including environmental management, labour and human rights, business ethics, and sustainable procurement. EcoVadis is widely recognized as one of the world’s most trusted providers of business sustainability ratings and is commonly used by multinational companies to assess ESG performance across global supply chains.
Achieving Gold status under EcoVadis’ increasingly strict assessment criteria reflects the maturity of GoodWe’s sustainability management systems and its preparedness for evolving global ESG regulations.

CDP Climate Change Score Upgrade
In addition to the EcoVadis recognition, GoodWe has improved its 2025 Climate Change score from B- to B under CDP. This upgrade moves the company into the Management level, indicating stronger climate action and more comprehensive disclosure.
The improvement reflects better integration of climate-related risks, enhanced energy performance, and more robust environmental reporting aligned with CDP’s updated and more demanding framework.
At GoodWe, climate change is treated as a double materiality issue, meaning it is considered both in terms of financial risk and environmental impact. Oversight of climate strategy sits with an ESG Strategy and Management Committee, while day-to-day execution is led by the Sustainable Development Research Institute. Together, these teams support climate risk assessment, greenhouse gas verification, and environmental performance tracking across operations and supply chains.
Incorporating Sustainability across Operations
GoodWe continues to invest in low-carbon manufacturing, lifecycle-based product design, and energy efficiency improvements across its facilities. Notably, the company is among the early players in the solar industry to complete Scope 3 emissions verification, improving transparency across its value chain.
Beyond climate action, GoodWe has also focused on ethical business conduct and responsible sourcing. The company maintains strong compliance and risk management frameworks and promotes sustainable procurement through supplier ESG standards, a Supplier Code of Conduct, and regular supplier risk assessments.
