New Relic Impact Report Showcases FY25 Climate, AI, and Tech Wins

New Relic has released its fourth annual Impact Report, showcasing a year of meaningful progress in climate action, responsible AI, and expanding technology access for the next generation of developers. Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) marked a period of strong growth and continued commitment to the company’s responsible business strategy.
“Positive impact and responsible business is at the core of how New Relic operates and develops its technology,” said CEO Ashan Willy. “In FY25, we took meaningful steps forward—gaining approval for our ambitious science-based climate targets, expanding access to our platform for millions of learners, and leading the way for ethical approaches to AI, to name just a few. It’s rewarding to see the impact our teams are making, and our continued efforts reflect our belief that growth and integrity must go hand in hand.”
Advancing Environmental Sustainability
New Relic’s FY25 achievements underscore its focus on climate action. The company’s science-based climate targets were formally approved by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi). These goals align with a 1.5°C global warming trajectory, the most ambitious standard recognized by SBTi, and target reductions across Scope 1 and Scope 3 emissions, including business travel.
In addition, the company enhanced operational sustainability through an infrastructure migration to AWS Graviton-based cloud instances. This move has boosted compute performance while delivering a 37% reduction in emissions for migrated workloads.

Expanding Tech Access for Future Developers
As part of its mission to inspire the next generation of technologists, New Relic launched a new partnership with GitHub Education and Platzi. This initiative provided millions of learners across Latin America with free access to more than 80 software tools and training resources. The program, under New Relic for Students, is designed to break down barriers to learning and foster skill-building for early-career developers.
Driving Responsible AI and Compliance
In FY25, New Relic advanced its AI governance initiatives by aligning with the EU Artificial Intelligence Act, the world’s first extensive AI regulation. The company launched an internal compliance program that includes clear policies, implementation guidelines, and educational resources to ensure ethical AI innovation.
New Relic also introduced retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques to reduce the use of customer data in AI model training. Additionally, new AI monitoring tools were implemented to help customers maintain their own compliance standards.

Giving Back and Building an Inclusive Workplace
Beyond technology and climate, New Relic continued its focus on community impact and inclusion. The FY25 Global Impact Challenge empowered employees, known as “Relics,” to direct donation funds to nonprofits of their choice while volunteering their time. Over half the workforce participated, contributing 5,943 volunteer hours.
The company also earned a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s 2025 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), receiving the “Leader in LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion” Equality 100 Award. This recognition reflects New Relic’s ongoing commitment to fostering a workplace where all employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.
With FY25 behind it, New Relic’s impact journey continues to balance business growth with responsible innovation, serving as a model for how technology companies can lead in sustainability, AI governance, and community engagement.
