Tandem, the pioneering green digital bank in the UK, has welcomed James Streeter as its Head of ESG, underscoring the bank's unwavering commitment to sustainability.

In this newly established role, Streeter will be tasked with crafting Tandem's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy. He will oversee the bank's policies, compliance measures, and targets, all while ensuring the seamless integration of ESG principles into Tandem's diverse product offerings.

With over 25 years of experience in the field of sustainability, Streeter brings a wealth of expertise to Tandem. His career has been marked by senior sustainability roles in prominent companies such as Symrise, a German food and beverage flavouring producer, as well as global energy giants like BG Group, Hess Corporation, and Blue International Group. Furthermore, Streeter has operated his own consultancy, Viridian Advisory.

In addition to his professional roles, Streeter chairs the Sustainable Wine Roundtable and serves on the Board of Trustees for InterClimate Network, where he actively mentors and inspires the next generation of climate change leaders.

Commenting on his appointment, Streeter remarked, "The integration of ESG is rapidly becoming intrinsic to companies, especially in the financial services sector, driven by compliance requirements and ever-evolving regulatory standards.

"Tandem, however, is going above and beyond. The bank has already made significant strides in developing an ESG framework encompassing Products, People, and Planet, yielding promising results. I am enthusiastic about joining the team in this newly created role, having recently collaborated with Tandem in a consultancy capacity."

Alex Mollart, Tandem's CEO, expressed his delight at Streeter's appointment, stating, "James is a distinguished expert in sustainability. We've been collaborating with him as a consultant to produce our inaugural ESG Report, and we're thrilled that he's decided to join Tandem on its journey towards a greener future.

"With a career exclusively dedicated to sustainability, he brings a wealth of expertise to our team. Green responsibility is the cornerstone of our business, and James will play a pivotal role in ensuring we uphold these values while also embarking on new commitments to assist our customers in adopting a greener lifestyle."

Streeter will be headquartered at Tandem's newly established London office, with plans to expand the bank's ESG team to support forthcoming initiatives.

Tandem, committed to delivering benefits to both its customers and the environment, offers sustainable solutions for saving, borrowing, spending, and sharing. From financing low-emission vehicles to supporting eco-friendly home improvements, offering EPC discount mortgages, and promoting green savings, Tandem's products empower individuals to make eco-conscious choices, ultimately saving money while reducing their carbon footprint.
