Amundi 2024 Green Bond Report Highlights Environmental Impact

Amundi, one of the largest European asset managers, has published its 2024 Green Bond Impact Report.
The report highlights the larger role that funds such as the Amundi Responsible Investing Impact Green Bond, Amundi Funds Impact Euro Corporate Short Term Green Bond, and Amundi Impact Ultra Short Term Green Bond play in financing the energy transition.
According to Alban de Faÿ, Head of Sustainable Responsible Investment processes for Fixed Income, the green bond market has grown steadily over fifteen years, and touched a total of €2,221 billion, with new issuances of €442 billion in 2024.

He also said that the market now offers a wide range of opportunities and that Amundi aims to invest in green bonds that create a positive impact for the environment and deliver returns throughout various economic conditions.
Amundi’s impact investing approach relies on three core principles:
- Intentionality means investments are made with clear environmental goals;
- Measurability tracks the amount of CO₂ emissions avoided; and
- Additionality ensures that the projects or issuer activities create an extra positive effect on the environment.
By the end of 2024, Amundi had invested €5.5 billion in green bond strategies. Its proprietary database covers more than 2,400 Green, Social, and Sustainability bonds, which helps in the careful selection of investment opportunities. Each €1 million invested in these funds avoids an average of 322 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.

The main projects funded include renewable energy, green buildings, clean transport, energy efficiency, and sustainable land and water use. All funds comply with SFDR Article 9 and hold recognised labels such as Greenfin (France) and Towards Sustainability (Belgium).
