Barclays is delighted to introduce James Edmonds as the newly appointed Global Head of Sustainable Project Finance within its esteemed Corporate and Investment Bank division.

James will be stationed in New York and directly report to the Global Co-Heads of Capital Markets, Travis Barnes and Tom Johnson. Moreover, he will collaborate closely with Daniel Hanna, the Global Head of Sustainable Finance, and will become an integral member of the Sustainable Finance Management Team.

In this fresh capacity, James will collaborate across the organisation to offer project financing solutions to clients, aiming to not only reduce carbon emissions within their operations but also capitalise on the substantial revenue prospects on a global scale.

He will forge strong partnerships with Barclays' existing Sustainable Finance teams, enhancing their prowess in delivering comprehensive and inventive debt and equity solutions.

Before joining Barclays, James held the position of Head of Real Assets Finance for the Americas at HSBC. During his tenure, he led a proficient team focused on originating transactions spanning core infrastructure, power and utilities, natural resources, transition minerals, and digital sectors.

Travis Barnes, Global Co-Head of Capital Markets at Barclays, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "James will enrich our current knowledge, particularly in areas like offshore wind, and contribute to the advancement of our project finance advisory services and product capabilities. This is especially crucial as our clients strive to make their businesses more environmentally sustainable."

Daniel Hanna, Global Head of Sustainable Finance, further commented, "With an ambitious goal to facilitate $1 trillion in sustainable and transition finance by 2030, James is a remarkable addition to our team. His appointment underscores our commitment to bolstering our sustainable finance portfolio across Barclays, enabling us to effectively guide our clients towards adopting low-carbon business models and expediting the implementation of the next generation of climate technologies."
