Danske Bank's New Mobile Feature for Sustainable Investing
Danske Bank A/S

Danske Bank is making it easier for customers to track their investments' sustainability impact with a new mobile banking feature.
This innovative tool empowers users to see how "green" their portfolios are and explore options for more sustainable investing.
Demand for Sustainable Investing Outpaces Action
A recent survey by Danske Invest revealed a disconnect between Danes' interest in sustainability and their actual investment practices. While 61% of Nordic customers considered sustainability "important" or "very important" when investing, only 22% actively incorporated it into their investment decisions.
New Mobile Feature Bridges the Gap
Danske Bank's new mobile feature aims to bridge this gap by providing an easy-to-use tool for assessing sustainable investment exposure. With a few clicks, customers can now:
View the percentage of sustainable investments in their portfolio.
Track their investments' performance against various sustainability factors like climate impact, human rights, and biodiversity.
Explore options for increasing the sustainability focus of their portfolio.
Democratising Sustainable Investing
Previously, obtaining insights into sustainable investing required a meeting with a financial advisor. This new feature democratises access to this information, making it readily available to all Danske Bank mobile banking users.
"Since we launched the feature for our advisors, we have been working purposefully to also make it available for customers when they are at home. Now we are making the feature available to everyone who uses our online or mobile bank. Thus, the insights are not only reserved for those who receive personal investment advice," explains Head of Global Private Banking and responsible for the private investment area, Anne Buchardt.
"Our new feature in the Mobile Bank is an important step towards making it even easier for our customers to make informed choices in relation to sustainability. With the new function, our customers get an efficient and intuitive digital solution, where they easily can see how many sustainable investments they have, and how their investments perform on a number of selected sustainability parameters directly on their smartphone," concludes Anne Buchardt.
Sustainability Factors Considered
The mobile feature uses a proprietary Danske Bank model to identify sustainable investments. It also provides an overview of how these investments perform against broader market benchmarks on specific sustainability parameters, including:
Female board representation in invested companies.
Investment in controversial weapons.
Climate footprint of portfolio holdings.
Fossil fuel exposure in the portfolio.
Impact on biodiversity from invested companies.
Human rights record of invested companies.
Investment in non-renewable energy sources.
By offering this level of transparency, Danske Bank hopes to encourage more customers to embrace sustainable investing and make a positive environmental and social impact with their investment decisions.
