Event Description

The 17th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification, hosted by Mongolia, convenes delegates from 197 Parties along with government, business, civil society, scientific and Indigenous representatives under the theme "Restoring Land, Restoring Hope." The two-week conference addresses desertification, land degradation and drought, with a Heads of State Summit and ministerial segment in its second week, and runs alongside the UN International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists 2026.
