GRI Professional Certification Program

The GRI Professional Certification Program is the world's leading training for sustainability reporting professionals. Offered through the GRI Academy, this comprehensive program provides expertise in applying the GRI Standards - the most widely used global standards for sustainability reporting. The 2025 curriculum includes four core courses covering CSRD/ESRS reporting, sustainability reporting with GRI Standards, sector standards navigation, and the evolving sustainability reporting landscape. Upon completing all courses and passing the certification exam (40 questions, 60 minutes), professionals earn the 'GRI Certified Sustainability Professional' or 'GRI Certified ESRS Sustainability Professional' title. Certification is valid for one year and can be renewed through Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Available in English and Spanish with two learning routes: self-paced online via GRI Academy or instructor-led through Certified Training Partners in over 50 countries.
