Course Description
Learn to design and create techically and aesthetically sound thematic maps using GIS software. In this online course, you’ll discover how map reading and measurement, topographic maps, aerial photographs and other techniques can help you address environmental and planning issues.
You’ll gain theoretical and practical experience in visual image interpretation, cartography, geographic coordinate systems and projections, and data collection and sampling for environmental management applications. You’ll emerge better equipped to integrate modern IT and geospatial technologies, and make better use of cutting-edge GIS software.
