Union Pacific Railroad has bestowed its inaugural 2023 Sustainability Partner Award upon a select group of twelve outstanding customers and suppliers.

This prestigious accolade serves to commend Union Pacific's business partners who exhibit noteworthy leadership and strides in achieving sustainability objectives.

Beth Whited, President of Union Pacific, expressed admiration for the recipients, stating, "These companies share Union Pacific’s drive and commitment to finding sustainable ways of doing business that positively impacts our communities, employees, and customers while building a more sustainable tomorrow."

Open to all of Union Pacific's customers and suppliers, the award is grounded in a company's sustainability endeavours, including the adoption of innovative business practices geared towards minimising environmental footprints.

Additionally, the evaluation considers a company's track record of effective engagement and collaboration with key stakeholders, encompassing communities and business partners.

The distinguished Union Pacific Customer Winners include Cemex, CF Industries, Dow, Freeport-McMoRan, Hapag-Lloyd, and Owens Corning. The Union Pacific Supplier Winners consist of Arcadis, Jacobs, Konecranes, Trinity, Wabtec, and WSP.

The honorees were celebrated on November 14th at an awards ceremony hosted at Union Pacific Center in Omaha, Nebraska. This event provided them with a platform to showcase their sustainability initiatives and projects.

Kenny Rocker, Executive Vice President – Marketing and Sales for Union Pacific Railroad, shared his enthusiasm about spending a day with the awarded business partners, stating, "We were thrilled to spend a day with our business partners, learning about their forward-thinking initiatives and sharing ideas on how we can work together to make a difference for generations to come."
