Thermo Fisher Scientific tops LGBTQ+ workplace equality for seventh year

Thermo Fisher Scientific scores 100 on the 2022 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) for the seventh consecutive year. The CEI is a national benchmarking tool measuring policies, practices, and benefits pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) employees.

For the seventh year in a row, Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (NYSE:TMO), the global leader in providing scientific services, received a score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's 2022 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). The CEI is a driving force for LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion as it is the national benchmarking tool evaluating policies, practices, and benefits pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) employees.

Only 13 businesses received the highest score in 2002, the inaugural year of the CEI. The incredible influence the CEI has had on business over the past 20 years can be seen in the fact that a record-breaking 842 companies received 100% on the 2022 CEI and the designation of one of the "Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality."

The CEI report assesses performance in four categories—adopting inclusive nondiscrimination policies, providing fair healthcare benefits for transgender employees; promoting an inclusive culture; and corporate social responsibility. Thermo Fisher's dedication to success in each of these crucial areas led to its perfect score of 100.
