Hess sees climate change as a 21st-century scientific challenge. We support the Paris Agreement's goal of net-zero emissions by 2050. This initiative aims to end routine flaring by 2025.
Hess Corporation is pleased to support the World Bank's initiative to achieve "Zero Routine Flaring by 2030." The goals of this initiative are consistent with our commitment to eliminate routine flaring from our operations by the end of 2025 as part of our overall strategy to reduce methane and other greenhouse gas emissions.
Climate change, according to Hess, is one of the greatest scientific challenges of the twenty-first century. In the context of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, we believe climate risks can and should be addressed while also providing the safe, affordable, and reliable energy needed to ensure human welfare and global economic development. We support the Paris Agreement's goal, as well as a global goal of reaching net zero emissions by 2050. We see achieving zero routine flaring by 2025 as a critical component of our efforts to aid the transition to a low-carbon economy and mitigate climate change.
We are excited to collaborate with the World Bank on this critical initiative.
