Global professional services company Accenture has unveiled its plan to acquire Green Domus Desenvolvimento Sustentável LTDA, a prominent sustainability consultancy based in Brazil.

The acquisition will strengthen Accenture's Sustainability Services team and expand its expertise in designing and implementing measurable decarbonisation strategies for clients. While the financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed, this strategic move emphasises Accenture's commitment to delivering comprehensive sustainability solutions.

As most global companies struggle to meet their net zero targets, businesses from various industries are seeking innovative ways to accelerate their transition towards net zero.

In response to this growing demand, Green Domus, a leading sustainability consultancy, will provide clients with solutions to integrate carbon data and insights into their decision-making processes.

Leveraging their expertise in sustainability frameworks like the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), voluntary carbon credits, and emerging regulatory schemes like the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), Green Domus aims to assist clients in achieving their sustainability goals.

Matthew Govier, Latin America Sustainability Services lead for Accenture, emphasised the synergy between Green Domus' carbon emissions data measurement approach and Accenture's advanced sustainability services, particularly their net zero transition solutions. These combined offerings will enable clients to build resilient futures and drive sustainable business growth.

Established in 2005 and headquartered in Brazil, Green Domus boasts two decades of experience in decarbonisation strategies. Their expertise spans diverse industries, including natural resources, agriculture, consumer goods, and retail.

By delivering customised mitigation plans based on feasible reduction targets, Green Domus has helped clients reduce their carbon footprint and cut costs. Their services encompass product lifecycle assessments, materiality assessments, sustainability measurement, performance tracking, and sectoral analytics projects.

Felipe Bottini, CEO of Green Domus, highlighted Accenture's scale and sustainability focus as crucial factors in helping clients address the disruptive challenges faced by communities and the environment. With businesses anticipating increased regulatory compliance, the collaboration between Accenture and Green Domus, fueled by the latest technologies, aims to expedite the embedding of sustainability into long-term solutions that tackle global issues like decarbonisation.

Green Domus represents the latest addition to Accenture's sustainability-focused acquisitions, further strengthening the company's global capabilities and commitment to sustainable value creation.
