LG Electronics is strengthening its sustainability strategy after its 2026 television lineup received several international environmental certifications tied to carbon reduction, energy efficiency, and recyclability.
The company said its latest OLED TV range reflects its growing focus on ESG initiatives and environmentally responsible product design. According to LG, its OLED technology is expected to help reduce plastic consumption by around 15,000 tonnes and lower carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 80,000 tonnes in 2026 when compared with an equivalent number of LCD televisions.
LG’s OLED TVs earned both “Reducing CO2” and “Measured CO2” certifications from Carbon Trust for the sixth straight year. The certifications assess emissions generated throughout a product’s lifecycle, including raw material sourcing, manufacturing, distribution, usage, and disposal.

The company said its self-emissive OLED technology supports lower emissions because it removes the need for backlighting and uses fewer components and materials than traditional LCD TVs.
Several OLED evo G6 models were included in the certification program. The 83-inch, 77-inch, and 65-inch versions received the “Reducing CO2” certification, while the 55-inch model received different certifications depending on the market region.
Beyond carbon-related certifications, LG’s 2026 TV lineup also secured Resource Efficiency certification from Intertek across eight television series. The evaluation covered factors such as material efficiency, recycled content usage, and energy performance.
In South Korea, Korea E-Cycle Governance recognized several LG TV models as “E-Cycle Excellent Products” for the fourth consecutive year. The certification reviews criteria such as ease of disassembly, recyclable design, and reduced hazardous substances.
LG’s lifestyle television lineup was included in the program for the first time. Products receiving certification included the 32-inch Stan byME 2 model as well as OLED evo C6 televisions in multiple sizes.
The company also highlighted its progress in recycling end-of-life plastic materials. Over the past three years, LG said it has recycled nearly 20,000 tonnes of plastic from its television business and plans to increase the use of post-consumer recycled materials during 2026.
“Our 2026 TV lineup demonstrates how environmental responsibility and premium performance can come together in a meaningful way. These certifications represent measurable progress in how we design, build and manage our products over their full lifecycle,” said Lee Choong-hwoan, Head of Display Business at LG Media Entertainment Solution Company.
LG’s latest certifications come as the company continues to expand its global ESG positioning. The company recently secured a “Top 1%” ranking in S&P Global’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment for the third consecutive year. LG scored 77 out of 100 in the Leisure Equipment & Products and Consumer Electronics category.
The company also maintained its place in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index for the 14th consecutive year. In addition, LG received an upgraded “AA” ESG rating from MSCI and a Platinum rating from EcoVadis for the second year in a row.
